Esketamine Treatment

  • What brand of medication do you use for esketamine treatment?

    • Dr. Reddy currently prescribes Spravato, a nasal spray with esketamine. We are not currently using IV esketamine therapies.

  • Who is esketamine recommended for?

    • The FDA has authorized esketamine treatment for people who have experienced Treatment Resistant Depression, or people who have not experienced results with two or more medications.

  • What is a treatment appointment like?

    • You will arrive at our office and asked to sit in a comfortable chair. When Dr. Reddy sees you, he will guide you in administering the nasal spray. After this, a we will monitor your blood pressure and other vitals for at least two hours. Dr. Reddy will monitor your blood pressure, vitals, and other aspects of your treatment, and once you are ready, will let you know when you are safe to go home. Patients who have esketamine administered cannot drive themselves home, or operate other heavy machinery, for at least 6-8 hours after treatment. However, esketamine treatment is an outpatient procedure. 

  • How often is esketamine treatment administered?

    • Spravato is administered twice a week for four weeks, once a week for four weeks, and then every other week, after which Dr. Reddy works with you to create a treatment plan. ​
